About

anthony leigh dunstan (AUS/NL)

Anthony’s vibrant paramusical works are perforated with extremes of contrast often engendered by provocative themes that embark on an odyssey of temporal sounds. His work is performed worldwide and spans across diverse settings from solo to opera/music theatre to electronic compositions.

Anthony Leigh Dunstan (1982) studied with Richard Ayres and Willem Jeths in Amsterdam (CvA), and Nigel Butterley, Michael Smetanin, and Mary Finsterer at Sydney Conservatorium under various scholarships and bursaries including Dame Joan Irvine Scholarship and the Sydney University Postgraduate Award. He has briefly studied alongside leading operatic composers Peter Eötvös and Pascal Dusapin, and has a strong rapport with experts in the field such as Javier López Piñón, Krystian Lada, and Anthony Heidweiller.

Anthony is involved with various musical institutions and projects including NIEUW GENECO, CoCoA and Stichting de Diamantslooperij. He is the co-founder of Smaakt naar Muziek – an innovative and meaningful interaction between the food and music presented as a performative culinary experience.
